Do sky purposely make normal channels look bad to make sky hd look good?

when i look at normal sky channels they look terrible when they did appear to look fabulous in the past.

i dont see much difference between Sky an Sky+ HD i have both, i think on both formats there supposed to be viewed on a 28inch tv or something as on a 42/48inch tv they both look Grainy! (tvs were smaller when Sky came out)

After watching HD for a period, you will see normal channels to appear bad compared to whta you remember. If you stay on normal for some period of time, the channels begin to appear better.
