How do I record TV shows/PPVs from my cable box to my computer?

  • Do I use a TV tuner or a HDPVR? I wanna record TV shows, then convert the files on my computer so I can edit and use clips from shows for video highlights. how would I do this?

    The best way is to install a satellite TV card on your computer. with a dish network, satellite receiver, your TV tuner card can receiver the signals from the satellite. please make out what of DVB standard in your country.DVB S2 is the most common. if you want to watch and record at the same time, I thinks the TBS 6981 dual DVB S2 PCie TV card would be great. it allows you watch one channel from one transponder/satellite while recording another channel from a second transponder/satellite.
