I would personally say get one with a Freeview tuner built in. This will mean that you will be able to record one channel and watch another channel from your TVs Freeview tuner (just like the good old days of TV/Video!). You won't need two aerials either, since the main aerial would be connected to the DVD recorder, then the Recorder would be connected to the TV - basically just the same as how you used to set up a video recorder. You may also find you get the odd channel more (despite a previous answer). I have this set up myself, and I have one or two channels of difference between the Tv and DVD - I can recieve ITV4, TMF and 4Music (to name 3) on my DVD recorder, while those channels are absent from the TV tuner! Probably just down to each products tuners, but there you go! You may find both are the same, but either way, this set up means you don't have to choose between channels!

i would get one without, as you already have freeview on your tv, a dvd with it wont give you any new channels plus to use freeview an aerial is needed so you would need a double connection for tv and dvd. just connect dvd to tv via scart lead or hi mi lead and if you set dvd to av you can sort recording what you want.
