Can I watch Netflix on my iPod while someone is watching Netflix on the TV?

    Yes you can stream on two devices at once without issue. Officially you can have up to six active devices on your account. Unofficially, that number has been raised to an unknown limit. I currently have twelve active devices. From the Terms of Use: "YOU MAY INSTANTLY WATCH ON UP TO SIX UNIQUE AUTHORIZED NETFLIX READY DEVICES. YOU WILL BE ALLOWED TO INSTANTLY WATCH SIMULTANEOUSLY ON TWO SUCH DEVICES AT ANY GIVEN TIME."

Not at all. I'm always watching Netflix on the TV while my sister watches it on her Iphone and nothing like that ever happens.

Officially you can only watch as many streams simultaneously as you pay for. For most people that means 1 stream. In practice you can run multiple streams at the same time (netflix allegedly is not currently enforcing the allowed number of streams). So if you set up both the iPod and teh TV, you should be able to watch different things at the same time, without them affecting each other (assuming your internet connection is fast enough).
