Answer:
You need two TP-Link AV200 devices, one at the TV, one at your router, You need the adapter they say you need, as that is all they wrote drivers/software for, as PC adapters are a moving target to write drivers for, and PC drivers will not work on non PC devices.

the best connection is with an ethernet wired connection . no need for a wifi dongle . The TP link should also work like an ethernet connection as it would with a PC . Not sure if there is a special reason that the TP doesnt work with a smart tv or is it faulty? I think I would check out the TPlink by seeing if it will work with a PC or laptop.

I tried to use a LinkSys USB adapter work for my Panasonic BluRay player but the box refused to recognize the device until I bought the real Panasonic version. But the results were disappointing. I got about 8 apps, some did not work and the dongle cost me $85. A few months later I bought a Western Digital TV Live box for $99. This gave me 25 apps, has a USB jack to play computer files from a flash drive, and I recently hooked it to my PC so I can play video files from my PC via my wireless. The box also gets updates about every 3 weeks and new apps have shown up. My Panasonic - has not had any new services added in a year or any updates. One of these separate media servers are a much better option than the wireless dongle to make a player or a TV 'smart'. It does take an extra HDMI port but I really, really prefer using it to the BluRay player. Look for Western Digital or Roku 2 or any of the other "media servers" that might be available. Hope this helps.
