Printer is not printing, even with new ink?

Is there such thing as a printer "eating" your ink even when you are not printing anything?

    Probably a leaky cartridge nozzle. Youll see the ink on the bottom of the cartridges resting point. The place where the cartridge sits when not in use.

You use cyan, no doubt. Almost everything you print will use a color, just some appear to stand out more then others.

Yes. You're using the ink. Just because you don't appear to need a specific color in a document, the printer has to blend the available inks together to get the color output. So, while a page might not have a specific color, it might have one that requires that color mixed with another.

Well, ink can dry out over time. If you haven't printed anything Cyan in many months, it's probably all dried out by now. Also, doing printer head cleaning also uses up ink, even if you aren't printing anything.
