I have Window xp operating stystem and tried to install a printer 3000 series but now having problem.

I can't install the printer Canon LBP3000 to laptop ( window XP ) , Pls help .?

    Unplug the printer from your Tower then... Uninstall all existing printers from the Device manager and from add remove programs,. Next make sure your Windows has the latest updates such as SP2. I would not recommend that SP3 be installed yet because it is known to have problems at this moment . Best wait until the bugs are out . Insert your cd (printer's software) and if needed execute the run /install procedure. Only plug in your printer when asked to do so otherwise the printer 's driver will not install properly. Most devices can be plugged in before the driver is installed. Not so for printers, you must wait for the request to plug in the printer from the installation process. Plugging in the printer before this request will fail to install the printer's driver properly.

Go to the "Start Menu". Then "Control Panel", after that go to "printers and other hardware". Click on "Printers and Faxes" Your printer name should show up. If that doen't work, your printer may have come with a software CD, try reinstalling it:)

u have to go to panel control then into system then hardware then u gonna see the name of it the u press upgrade the install it aoutomatic ... good luck
