How do you set up a wireless printing network for your home?

Home network printer question?

  • Can I set my home network printer to not allow printing during the weekend?

  • Answer:

No. If the printer is accessible by any computer on the network, then as long as the printer is connected to the network, there's no way to prevent printing to it. You'd have to remove the network or power cable to have any hope of prevention, so long as someone doesn't find replacements to take their place. Otherwise you'd have to lock up the printer itself. You cannot use Group Policy Editor and Local Security Policy Editor, remote admin's programs, or anything else unless you have full control over all of the computers that have access to the network to be able to setup and limit User's activities to the printer.

Other answers

Not to sound overly simple here, but you could literally just unplug it from your computer and the wall. Then it would be almost impossible to print. Good luck! =A.

use remote admin's programs

You can if you have Windows Premium /Professional / Enterprise or have added Group Policy Editor and Local Security Policy Editor to you standard or home basic edition. Worthless telling otherwise. Please update.
