see if there's an option for input selection under menu on the tv for the vga cable - could just be receiving signal only from cable.
it would be good if you specify on what type of OS you are using. =) just in case you are using windows7 or xp, before installing your PC to TV, try to change the resolution first with a different monitor (say your old monitor for your pc). *right-click > Properties > Settings > Resolution experiment on what resolution would be applicable with your HDTV. If higher resolution causes the issue, then reduce the resolution (e.g. 800×600). Remove the connector and put it in the TV. restart your TV-PC connection. This would be trial-and-error so it is a bit tedious on your part. XD * another note, Turn on your TV and configure or set it to the input that matches the output on your computer i.e. you may pick up your TV remote and switch “Input” from the default to a different selection which may be “S-Video” or “S-VHS” or “HDMI 1″ or “Video 2″ , depending on how you connected the TV to your computer. ring me if it helped.

I had to get the Catalyst control center from ATI and then went into the properties of my desktop to activate two monitors instead of one. Now I just right click the little ATI tray icon and it says switch between screens. I hit that and select PC on my TV remote and there the computer desk top is. The TV also had a setting where you had to use it for the TV to recognize the computer. It took 4 tries to get the thing to come on the very first time I tried it. I love using my TV when HOCKEY night on Yahoo Sports has free games on line. Just make the screen full and it's just like watching cable. IF I had to guess, try right clicking on the desk top and click settings and the multiple monitors should be there. If not, the Graphics card would have the two monitor controls.
