  • Answer:

Check to see if your laptop has a S-Video port. If it does you can use a s-video cable to connect the laptop to the tv. For audio, you can use a 3.5mm Stereo Plug to 2 RCA Plug cable (look something like this http://images.monoprice.com/productlargeimages/6651.jpg ) to connect laptop to the tv. Use the headphone out on the laptop and the audio in on the tv.

It all depends on your laptop's capabilities. If there is an S-video output on your laptop, then you can use an S-video cable since you said there's one on the TV. Otherwise sometimes laptops have a standard RCA video output that you can use (usually the red, white, and yellow, where yellow is video and the others are audio). Some TV are even coming with a standard VGA input so you can use a computer monitor cable to connect the laptop to the TV. It all depends on your laptop, which we'd need the exact model number for in order to check the specs, assuming it's a standard model.
