  • My tv doesn't have one of those plugins like the computer have for the monitor. So are there any that i can plug into the back of the computer that converts on the other end so ...show more

  • Answer:

Best solution: get a new video card that has a TV output that matches your TV's inputs. If that isn't possible, get a converter box/cables to do the conversion. See http://www.s-video.com/producttable.html... for a chart of possibilities. You would be more likely to get a good answer if you gave the model numbers for the laptop & TV. Even better if you discribe the A/V outputs on the computer and inputs on the TV.

This think, only works for watching the movies, avi; mpeg or any other formats, you will not be able to do anything else! No there is no cord, it depends what kind of graphic card you have, does it have S-Video output or RCA.If you have info papers about you computer, just look around what kind of Graphic Card you have. And than you just have to buy S-Video to ps2 cable, that is not expensive and than just change your Graphic properties, instead of monitor just click on a TV. Oh and maybe you will have some problems with sound, if that will be the issue than just press fn+f5. And that is all, I think I didn't forget to mention anything, lol?= )

I wouldn't do what you want to do. When hooking up a Computer to a Bigscreen TV Via S-Video, its a 800x600 resolution REALLY BIG. Its HORRIBLE. You will cry when you see the way it looks. Dont waist your money. You cant read text or icons. You can't watch movies. Everything looks horrendous. I'mnot trying to be negative like 90% of the people on yahoo answers, i'm just telling you from first hand experiance.

Depends on what connections your video card has. If it has S-Video, and so does your TV, great. If not, you may have to look into a converter box like this: http://www.amazon.com/Grandtec-Ultimate-2000-PC-to-TV-Converter/dp/B00006B70W Hope that helps.

Try Best Buy or Future Shop and look for an S-VIDEO cable. Then simply right click on desktop and go to properties and then to settings and finally "extend my desktop to attached monitor" or in this case, your TV

yeah there are boxes ($75ish) that can do that, but ALOT is lost in conversion... i would just buy a video card with dvi (or hdmi) out and then connect it that way
