Like can you still have microsoft powerpoint and word on a netbook or are netbooks really just for internet browsing? Also which would would be better for school work

Answer:
Netbooks are just smaller (pocket type) laptops. Laptops are portable desktops, that work in the same manner as your desktop would. Netbooks, IMHO are just a mere marketing ploy, and are an unecessary purchase choice. You'll be better off just using your muti-media cell phone to accomplish the same tasks, as well as get more use and enjoyment out of them. Stick with a laptop for school work, leave the netbooks to the gadget geeks. Hope this helps. :)

A netbook is a very low powered laptop. They have smaller screens, keyboards, hard drives, etc... then a laptop. Thay are meant to be used on the road as a second computer. They are not powerfull enough to be a primary computer.

Netbooks tend to be smaller, lighter, and more geared toward browsing and basic work, such as processing and the like. Laptops are faster, and more powerful. As far as school work, everyone I know has a laptop. They get the job done, plus some.

Whats the difference between Laptops and Netbooks? A Laptop and netbook are actually the same as all netbooks are laptops. The conventional laptops that most people have been using over recent years is known as a notebook. Most manufacturers have now jumped on the netbook market as well. A netbook is basically a small laptop with the same functions as a larger notebook but with performance sacrificied for size. Netbooks are typically around 10 inches screen size and are cheap and portable. Notebooks usually start from 15 inches and are more expensive and heavier. Like can you still have microsoft powerpoint and word on a netbook or are netbooks really just for internet browsing? Yes you can run office applications like word, powerpoint, excel on a netbook / small laptop. I have a Samsung NC10 and it even has a 160GB hard drive and is only 10 inches in size. Also which would would be better for school work? I would recommend a small laptop or netbook for you. Easy to carry around, cheap, you can do all your school work on it and answer questions here when you're not.

laptops are more powerful than netbooks. generally laptops can play better games than netbooks for exampl. in terms of web browshing and office applications for school work you're better off with a netbook. most netbooks will also allow you to watch movies but you will notice that they may struggle to playback video.
