there are a few things you can do to speed up your computer: first do the disk cleaning: click on start, control panel, and on the left click on "switch to category view", then click on performance and maintenance. then click on "free up space on your hard disk". then click ok. next, go to start, control panel, category view, performance and maintenance, then click on "rearrange items on hard disk to make programs run faster". then highlight the c drive and click on "defragment". then leave the computer alone for awhile and let it defragment(will probably take awhile)but dont touch it, it'll let you know when its finished(a window that says "complete" or "finished) will show up. after its complete, restart your computer. it should be a lil faster. hope this helps, good luck

It depends on your CPU speed, with 256mb ram I'd say your CPU and FSB is holding the speed down. You probably need to consider a newer computer with more CPU speed.

More RAM defintely and try deleting programs you don't use and do a system defrag. The RAM will help the most.

Your probably experiencing a lot of your computers tasking being used up by bundled software and junk you dont use. Try uninstalling programs that you never use, and removed unneeded windows components. If you want to void warranty, or really dont care, you can buy more RAM for your lap, but you'll have to find out the type (PC####). Good Luck -Devin

what is your processor speed? What programs do you usually run? Most people will probably say for you to upgrade your RAM but I want to make sure that RAM is the issue. Email me the answers

Go to www.crucial.com and see how much RAM you computer can support (max). Then go buy that RAM and remove your 256 and install the new one. 2 GB would give you a lovely baby.

You gotta remove the start up programs so that it runs faster. Hope this advice helps.
