Why study accounting and finance?

Just curious, why do ppl choose accounting and finance? Any particular reason? Besides it being pretty rewarding (monetary wise).

I think because they want to handle money plus use a little math .!? My cousin graduated he got a BA on Accounting and he still haven't find a job , hes like stuck in best buy working. it like if he spent his time in college for nothing. So if your thinking about start early working on banks and stuff , so you wont have to be like my cousin !!!!!!

According to some economists, Accountants will always be in demand and those who obtain an accounting degree will always be able to find employment. Also they say that accounting is the best degree one can have because it teaches one the science of organizing a business' finances. The ability to sale and to manage others is something a person is born with and there is no degree that can teach a person that. By the way, most people work for the money and not for self fulfillment.
