I would I would feel more comftorable staying with people I know and being abel to feel more comftorable when comuticating with them.

I think the relative would watch out for your social well being better than anyone else--at least until you get familiar with the USA and established, this is a good idea. Roomates can be so unpredictable and unstable--if you want your studies to be successful, stay stable. Unless the relative(s) are trouble, you're best of living with them.
