Can i apply to study law in america with alevels?

I want to study law but i was thinking it may be better to go to america as the competition in England is really intense .. Would alevels be enough to get me in to study law ? and ...show more

Answer:
You need a four year Bachelor degree and take the LSAT exam to apply to any US Law school, which is another 3 years. To apply to college to earn a Bachelor degree, you need your A levels and take the SAT exam www.collegeboard.org You would be studying US Law, not UK law. So how could that help you get a job in the UK? You would be here on a student visa and would be required to leave once classes were over. Your chances of finding a job in the US as a lawyer are extremely slim. There are plenty of new Law grads trying to find jobs here. Tuition and room and board here is going to cost at least $30,000 per year

Law is a postgraduate subject in America so no, you cannot study Law in the US with just A'levels. Getting into US Law School is no problem at all but it costs $50,000 a year for tuition alone. Graduating from a tier 3 college will qualify you only to stack the shelves in the supermarket. There is a massive glut of Law graduates in the US and few jobs (worse than the UK). I doubt whether any university in the UK will consider you for Law/Business in the UK with a C in GCSE Maths. They really like to see Maths at A'level. Why not just retake?

America is even more competitive and expensive. I think you'd need to re-take gcse math to get an a.

You need show you can fund the whole course/living expenses up front to qualify for the student visa (~$150,000) You can't get a loan for this. Note, you won't be allowed to work in the US afterwards as you would only have a student visa. Note, a US law degree will be useless in the UK for working in law as the laws between the two countries are different.
