Answer:
It really depends what you're looking for. Swansea - The nightlife's very good in Swansea and revolves largely around one street called Wind Street that's full of nothing but bars and restaurants. Swansea has one of the bets nightlifes in Wales. The University's OK but not special. However the location's brilliant, half-way between the city centre and the beautiful seaside town of Mumbles. Swansea City centre's very ugly, although efforts are being made to make it look better. Most of the sights in Swansea are found outside the city. As I mentioned, Mumbles is a great place to go on a sunny day. It has a beach, many great little bars and restaurants and designer shops. There's the fantastic Oystermouth castle (Castell Ystumllwynarth in Welsh) and Joe's ice cream, which is just incredible! The Gower (Gwyr in Welsh) near Swansea is a peninsula with some of the world's finest beaches. If you enjoy surfing, it's very good. North of Swansea is the Brecon Beacons (Banau Brycheiniog in Welsh), which is a national park and mountain range which is very beautiful. Swansea has a nice friendly culture, even if the city itself isn't very beautiful. Dublin - Dublin's nightlife's very expensive but boy is it good. The tourist area is Temple Bar, which is an area of central Dublin that's full of pubs! There's usually live Irish music and great singing. It's a wonderful atmosphere, and awesome fun. But you still have some great clubs. However I would always recommend pubs over clubs in Dublin (and in Ireland generally). If you don't enjoy sitting in an old-school bar, listening to live music, then Dublin's not for you. And of course there's plenty of Guinness! The stuff of dreams. I don't know if you want to go to Trinity or UCD, but both are very good institutions. Trinity has an especially strong reputation. Dublin has plenty to see and do. The Guinness factory is the ultimate tourist visit, but it's well worth it. Everywhere you go in Dublin you'll find memories of history; statues of revolutionary, nationalist heroes and monuments to soldiers. The Irish are very proud of their history, and it's one of the reasons why they're so fascinating. Study Ireland's history before going to Dublin, because it'll help you appreciate it much more. Dublin's not stunningly beautiful, but it certainly has a charm and some very nice looking areas. If you get a chance to see some Gaelic Football or Hurling at Croke Park, then do it! They're great sports, unique to Ireland, and Croke Park's a special stadium. Nottingham - Nottingham's got a reputation as one of the best nights out in England. It's very different to Dublin and a better night out than Swansea. Nottingham's got a lively music scene, and has several large nightclubs. Nottingham's got a very good University, but unlike Swansea and Dublin the university's outside the city. Nottingham's city centre isn't very beautiful but there are a few things to see. Nottingham is famous for a few reasons. It was the home of Robin Hood and the locals are very proud of the legend. There's a statue of Robin Hood in the city centre. Nottingham also has England's oldest pub. The Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, which is a beautiful little building, nearly 1000 years old, and still serving food and drink. Nottingham's castle isn't open to the public. Nottingham's also one of the only places in the UK that has a hooters! London - I probably don't need to tell you much about London. It's one of the world's biggest cities, and an international city, much like New York. There are so many bars and clubs, but they tend to be scattered all over the place. You'll never be short of somewhere to drink, but it doesn't have the same kind of compressed, atmospheric nightlife that Swansea, Dublin and Nottingham have. There are many universities in London; some brilliant, some very poor. I don't know which ones you're considering. There's a million and one things to see in London: Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, St James' Park, Museums etc. The shopping's fantastic and you'll never be bored. I hope this helps. If you need more information, just message me.
