So, if you can afford it, then there are some great schools in the U.S. You will find the crime rate higher than in the UK no matter where in the US you go, though. In Canada, the cost would be about a third of the U.S., there are some great schools, and the crime rate is lower than both the US and the UK.

Then it takes from five to seven YEARS to get back into USA. That is the LAW, no exceptions. It was signed in congress a few years ago. YOU CANNOT STAY after graduation. Canada welcomes foreign students to stay, work and build their career in Canada after graduation. You get a three year temporary work visa and can apply as Permanent Resident at the end of the three years. Studying less than three years - you MUST go home and start the five - seven year process to get back to Canada. Studying "a little" in Canada IS NOT a back-door way to get a visa. There are some 80 universities in Canada, you can research them here and also see what the tuition fees are for foreign students. Typically $ 15,000 - $ 25,000 per year - Add about $ 12,000 per year for cost of living.
