Hello Grayson, well i can understand your sort of confusion, but i'll try to help as far as Australia is concerned. I'm an international student from Mauritius, doing a double masters degree at the Australian Catholic University, North Sydney campus. Before coming to Australia, i was in a similar situation like yours, but definitely i cant compare Mauritius with America, but still i can share my australian experience with you. Sydney is a lively cosmopolitan city and im personally living a great experience here. i think australia is also among the best livable city in the world!!! Sydney expose to you a cultural diversity with people from all around the world. Winters and summers are bearable and i personally love this city. As regards educational standards, i dont have any complaint abt my uni, since all the courses offered here are CIRCOS registered and recognised by the government. Im still tasting the diversified cuisine and above all i find sydney quite safe. I personally dont regret the choice of Australia.Best of luck!!!!!!

It all depends on which culture you are more comfortable with. Do you speak French or Japanese? You probably are looking at English speaking schools but it might be really cool to experience a new language and pick up a few new things too. If you're not comfortable with the culture shock, you might feel better in Australia. Also, look at the prices for each one and whatever fits best for your money situation.

Well Japan is still coming back from its natural disasters, so I would stay away from there for a bit longer! Australia would be very fascinating to study in, but it is more outdoorsy rather than historical. France is a beautiful country with lots of culture and history and I would definitely study there!
