How do I use an SD card in my camcorder?

Can I use the same SD card I use for my T2i on my new Panasonic HC-V10 HD Camcorder?

  • its an 8gb SDHC class 6. Because I'll be using the T2i on my mac and the camcorder on a pc (since its not compatible with macs).

  • Answer:

Probably not a good idea. The card needs to be formatted in each camera. So format for the T2i, shoot your pics, download and back up. Then format the card in the hd camcorder, shoot your video, download and back up to your computer, formatting erases everything. The best thing to do is to have two cards, one for each camera/camcorder and make sure you format in each one before you start shooting. I'm not saying it won't work, but it can lead to card corruption.

yes wont be a problem , most canons have a typical file type system which creates it folders within that structure , the panasonic if the canon t2i rebel files are still there will just create its own file structure (which will be different to the rebel) an save there , neither file structure will affect the other unless you choose a file format option
