How to edit a video to make it look like a high production value film?

    I don't think you can make something look like it's high production value - it either is or it isn't. You take the time and trouble to get it right, or you don't. "They have this appearance that by looking at one frame you can tell it is a film." Again, I disagree - I've just watched a short film which had a sequence where the main character is crouching in his cell-like room. The shot has him framed in a doorway on the right of the shot, the rest of the frame is dark. It was a very effective bit of filming, and a still from that sequence would have been powerful on its own. You wouldn't have been able to tell it was from a film though. There's a lot of discussion on the web about how to achieve "the film look". You'll probably be advised to shoot 24p - if only it was that simple!
