    You cannot simply compare camcorders, or cameras for what market, consumer, pro, professional cameras have very little in common with consumer ones. You would not see a pro using a 200 (£$) for his job, nor would I think that many would spend 10,000 on a camera and use it for only family parties. Re ask the question with a lot more info, Its like asking what is the best car, people say all sorts of cars then you say OH its for off road. totally different ball game. RR

It's difficult to ignore pricing and features - e.g. Nikon make wonderful top end cameras but I think their bottom end stuff is poor. Similarly, I like the slightly unnatural colours of Kodak's point and shoot cameras while other people hate them. Across the price range, I think you've got the best chance with Fuji for stills cameras and I agree with Little Dog's choices for video.
