look for a name brand like sandisk, kingston etc. for a camcorder get hcsd they start at 4 gigs. There's speed class ratings too, 2, 4 and 6. those determine the write speed eg. 2mb/s 4mb/s or 6mb/s. you should be fine with a class 2 unless its HD. DO NOT get a HCSD card from ebay unless its just as expensive as everywhere else.

Sandisk memory cards are good, for a camcorder you might need more than maybe 4gb and some camcorders come with internal memory. But mostly Sandisk and Sony are te two main good one sand reliable ones :).
