I'm an Undergraduate student. I have done some good research work and I'm publishing a paper on it. I find this writing work very uninteresting and irritating.( I love the subject though) Does this mean a PhD is probably not good choice for me?

Do all the people feel it ? Absolutely irritating !!

Answer:
Yes and no. Yes, if you don't want to make any sacrifice. No, if you can sacrifice your time and emotional feelings for writing a PhD thesis of on average 150 pages plus 1-2 additional research papers. I realized I did not like academia as much as I'd always imagined when I started writing my PhD thesis. I'd always thought a PhD in a STEM field would not require too much writing. Wrong. Academia as a profession is all about writing, and writing and writing. However, you could still get a PhD, during the process sacrifice 5 months of your life in doing something you don't really enjoy, i.e. writing, and then move on. It would be extremely beneficial if you get a PhD AND during these 4-5-6 years you focus your work and exploration skills on what you would want to do after it. That way you will be PhD ready to enter the industry, where you can do what you love without having the burden of the annoying writing requirement.

Firstly, congrats! It is quite rare for an undergraduate student to do good research and publish a paper on it. TL; DR: If you write your paper in a way that it will be 'interesting' to read, I am sure it will also be 'interesting' to write! Anyway, coming back to the question you asked, if you find the writing work "very uninteresting and irritating", you must be doing something wrong. People often find things which they are not good at "uninteresting and irritating" . But you say that you have done good research, so I guess this is not the case with you. The other possibility is that you are trying to write your paper in a very 'formal' and boring way. Try to make it interesting for the reader, especially the Introduction part. Try presenting a brief overview of the topic followed by a good motivation example and the challenges regarding the topic. This should get the reader interested in your topic. After that, you can focus on the literature review and your own work, followed later by the comparison of your work with previous work (if applicable). PhD Part: I would like to quote something that I read somewhere. "You think you are good at something because you never failed at it". I'm not discouraging you from doing a PhD. From what I have read, PhD is about doing good (and ground-breaking) research. Finding paper-writing boring shouldn't be the deciding factor for you not to pursue a PhD. But still, having read answers about PhD on Quora, I'd say this to you "If you are in doubt whether or not to pursue PhD, you probably should not pursue it".
