Which is better: Firefox or Internet Explorer 8?

I want to know which is better Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer?

  • Presently I am using both Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer web browsers. I want to know which one is better web browser. Is there any web browser better then these.

    Mozilla Firefox (I am a fan), is admittedly more for the geekish people. The same kind of people that argue over Windows vs Mac. Firefox is mostly known for its fast rendering times and complete customization. But it also uses more system resources. There is no "best browser that satisfies all your needs". Yes Mozilla may be more advanced, but in the end Internet Explorer has more compatibility with websites. And some users are so familiar with IE they won't be comfortable changing. But I recommend you at least try Mozilla Firefox. Even if you are not an uber geek and want to completely theme and customize every aspect of your experience, you would at least enjoy it's simpler interface, good add-ons/plugins, and much faster loading speeds. I am definitely not a fan of Safari. Safari for Windows sucks balls. It is really horrible. I personally don't like the OS X-like interface, and the web loading times are even worse than IE (for me anyway). My experience with Google Chrome is not the same as some Google fans would have you believe. Google Chrome is not insanely fast, Firefox is faster. And the interface is sooo simple...a bit toooo simple...it has like 2 toolbars (including the menu bar). I have not tried Opera or some of the other browsers. Only tried Safari for Windows, Google Chrome, Firefox 3, and IE 7 & 8 Beta. Hope this helped. =D

Mozilla Firefox is the best. It has many add ons that boost your internet usability. The interface is very customizable. Moreover, you can even open Internet Explorer specific pages, like the windows update page, in firefox using the IE-tab addon. So basically you have the functionality of Internet Explorer also built into Firefox. If you are looking for something simple and easy on the system resources, try google chrome. It has a minimalistic interface and does not use much system resources.

mozilla firefox is the best one. its faster, has lots more of addons to use, many features than internet explorer. can restore the web pages if it crashes. overall better performance than internet explorer. ----- -----

i have IE and my school has firefox, i gotta say man my IE is slow as hell, but that firefox is the stuff, its clean,fast,and easy. I really recomend firefox.

I use the internet very lightly for email, instant messaging, a few message boards and for a little shopping so I honestly like the newest version of IE best. I have Firefox and I'm just not that impressed. There are too many knick knacks and extra features that aren't needed for the light use I need. I suppose it's great for someone who is interested in using the internet for various other features like downloads, etc.

Firefox works much faster on my computer, but my wife's computer is OK using Internet Explorer. When I use Explorer it takes a long time after I click the big E before it opens my home page.
