start powerpoint application and press 'F1'. That's the best way to start. That's the reason Microsoft took time to create the 'help function'

First you need a powerpoint program. I suggest Microsoft Office Powerpoint 2003. The program is very straight forward. Most of the tools that you will need to edit your slides are in the Side Show drop down menu on the toolbar. That will help you add details such as transitions and color. In the spaces provided you type in your infortmation. Before you begin I recommand that you just play around with the program to see all of your options. I think it would be difficult to screw something up. Once you begin inputing your data, save your work every time you complete something that you don't want deleted. This way if you do do something and don't know how to undo, close the program without saving an open up the presentation where you left off. You can also purchase PP guides at Staples and Chapters. They are only one page, they price around $10.99...

Firstly, select a new blank page. You will notice that you can not type text directly onto the page. You will need to open a text box (There should be a menu at the bottom with the text box icon on it.). You can write normally, or use 1 text box per line, if you want to do some animation. Pictures etc can also be inserted. To insert more slides, go to Insert and select New Slide. To have text apear or disapear,Custom Animation. Click on Entrance or Exit and select an animation theme. Press OK. This should give you some simple effects and page set up, enough to produce a simple show. Most things are the same as for Word etc. So you can insert pictures, or add Hyperlinks in the same manner. Good luck
