    Do you even know what you want? Im utterly confused on what exactly you are trying to do. I have been building websites for a couple of years and I am going to tell you that nothing is free. It might have been free a few years ago, but now you have to spend a little money on websites.

You will need to read about the following things: Html Javascript php (optional) css Then you will need your programs (example only) Dreamweaver CS4 or CS3 (html, php, all the files) Adobe Photoshop CS3 (for graphics and better layout) Flash Program etc...

So you want a normal URL (www.YOUR WEBSITE ADDRESS GOES HERE.com,ca etc.) For this you do have to pay a server to host your website, (godaddy.com is cheap) Your website address is called a "domain name" and you can choose from anything you want that is not already taken (You can't have yahoo.com) If you want a free one you have to use Geocities.com or another website server. (Your domain will be www.Geocities.YOUR WEBSITE ADDRESS GOES HERE.com,ca etc.)

That's not gonna happen. You have to PAY MONEY for the domain name(like yahoo.com) and then you will need soft wares to create and publish the site. Your best bet is to use a free hosting site like webs.com. But then, if you want you could make a legitimate site.

i don't know of any web design software that is free. you could do a business blog for free on blogspot, but if you want to design your very own website from scratch then i suggest picking up a copy of dreamweaver for beginners and going from there. i think you are asking a bit much with the free part, but then again my knowledge is limited. OH, and you will need to pay someone for the hosting of your site, as well as buy the url you want.
