What is the difference between exempt and non-exempt position?

  **A postition is just the skill you specialize in. For example, I'm a setter, I get every second ball. With position you will still rotate like you did on your rec team, however, once the ball is live (served) you will switch to the position (location on the court) your coach gives you. For me, that usually means spots 1 or 2. After the ball is dead you return to the spot you were in, then rotate when neccessary. Your coach will explain it all to you, dont worry! **Serving- it will depend on your coach. Everyone will rotate to that spot (like on your rec team), however a player can be substituted out at your coach's descretion. If you are not a strong/consistent server, it is likely your coach will sub someone else in for you when you reach that spot. **Tips- Make sure youre giving yourself a nice high toss. Are you right handed? (If not, do the opposite of what I say). Start with the right foot forward, but weight on your left foot. Ball in the left hand, but aimed in front of your right hand. As you toss the ball, take a step and transfer your weight to your left foot. Make sure youre contacting the ball when your arm is as strecthed/high as possible. It took me four years to completely master my overhand serve, dont feel bad!
