  I would always get the newest version out. Usually, the next generation of iPods get released in September, but recently the newest iPhone was to be released at WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference), but it didn't. This probably means that the iPhone, and maybe the iPods release date will get pushed further into the year or even next year! If the new iPod Touch however does get released, it is most likely that the price point will be the same as the current iPods and maybe evsn lower! Also, there is speculation that there will be an iPod Touch with over 100 gigabytes of space as well. Hope this helps!
