Answer:
Everyone works in different ways so what works for one person might not work for you, but here are some simple things to think about. Where are you trying to revise? It's important to have somewhere set out solely for you to revise, if you're sitting on your bed, or on the sofa where you're used to relaxing and doing other things, you'll not be in the right mindset to revise, set aside a place, away from other noise, distractions and people where you can go, revise and that's it. Somewhere comfortable, with a proper desk and well lit. You can always go to a local library or sometimes schools set aside rooms for you. Don't try to do too much. Make a plan of what you want to achieve today and try to stick to it. But remember to put in breaks, no one can concentrate for hours on end. What used to work for me what 1-1.5hrs work then 15-20 minutes break. When you break leave the place you're working to clear your head and to keep it just the place of work. And stick to you timetable, don't break for too long. Stay hydrated. Water keeps your brain active and alert keep a bottle of water next to you and drink reguarly. Plus try and eat healthy, your brain is a muscle don't forget and you need to make sure you're fueling it right. Here's a quick list of 'brain-food' you can find a lot on google http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/eat-smart-healthier-brain There are other things, for example, do you need complete silence, or would some music help. That's something only you can know, and find out from experience, sometimes some classical music or gentle songs can relax you and focus, but for other people any music is a distraction. Try different things until you know what works for you And try varying your revision, just like in lessons, you're going to be more motivated if you have variety. Try different activities, reading notes, making new notes, quizzing yourself, doing past papers, making flashcards, try and find someone to revise with occaisionally to quiz each other and share what you know, you'll often find someone else has a fresh perspective you haven't thought of. And most importantly, stay relaxed! Stressing out over it won't help anything!
