How can i get a better local TV channel reception on my TV?

You need to find the color code for your location. Most all have the code color list on them somewhere.

I HAD Direct TV...they wouldn't give me the LOCAL stations no matter how bad my reception was......and it was bad ! SO....I switched to DISH NETWORK And now I have a better, more reliable signal during rainstorms AND I HAVE LOCAL RECEPTION TOO !! Woo Hoo ! IF you plan on getting an HDTV, order the HD DISH BOX (with DVR if you like recording TV shows for later viewing) The reason is that DISH gives you the FIRST BOX free, then it costs $200 to upgrade the box....so plan for the FUTURE. You aren't forced to purchase the HD stations to get the HD box....you can purchase them WHEN you get your first HDTV. Now that is cheaper than setting up your own OUTDOOR TV ANTENNA, which is what you would have to do to get LOCAL CHANNELS.

try buying a receiver from local hardware stores. there should be various types to choose from
