Why does my LCD TV look blurry?

Just bought a rca lcd hd tv and was wondering why things look shadowey? can anyone tell me something ?

    It all depends on the source. For example, analog cable will look worse now than before. HDTVs work best with a digital source and preferably HD content. So, try it with a DVD. If it is shadowy, try to adjust brightness and contrast. Also avoid using the "vivid" mode. It is way too bright. If you have analog cable consider upgrading to digital and HD.
