What kind of price would I look at for a full HD 3D Television?

I've been looking into it as well, and the only prices I can remotely find seem pretty steep. "Philips new HD 3D TV - The price? So what will it cost you to impress, and certainly, to be impressed? The big 40 are sold for about $12000 and the smaller size 20 is shipped for $3000. But if you can wait the prizes will of course eventually be like any ordinary TV sold anywhere today..."

There are (unfortunately) no 3D HD TVs on the market yet, they're expected to come out around summer time. 3D TVs will cost a bit extra, but are expected to become fairly standard in 2011/2012. The only major difference in the display technology is that the TV must be updated to support video input at 120 Hz (compared to the previous standard of 60) and there are some minor firmware updates and hardware tweaks that need to applied as well. What really costs are the 3D glasses. Most of the 3D TVs that are coming out will be using the Shutterglass 3D technique which uses battery operated glasses that cost between $100-200 a pair. Some 3D TVs will use a polarizer method that has throw-away cheap glasses, but the actual display will likely be more expensive. (There is also a question as to whether 3D can actually be displayed in full HD on polarized tvs, or if the vertical resolution will be cut in half). If you don't want to bother with 3D yet, a standard 32" HD LCD TV will probably cost you around $400-500.
