    (1) Stay away from household cleaning products. Pledge, Windex, whatever. These are not your TV's friend. They will corrode the outer coating on the TV. (2) Stick with as soft a cloth as you can. Stay away from paper towel or tissue paper of any kind. Soft cotton is your friend here. (3) First I would try to just use a clean dry cloth to remove the dirt. See if a little pressure and "buffing" will resolve the problem for you. If so, great, because no chemicals were involved. (4) If you must go the chemical route, get an LCD cleaner then. You can buy these from most any place that sells LCDs (either TVs or computer monitors). They are inexpensive. Lightly mist the cleanser onto the soft cloth (not the TV) and then wipe it down. If you really feel the need to go the DIY route, you can go the the drugstore and buy Isopropyl Alcohol (91%). Mix this in a 1:1 ratio with water in a spray bottle. The mist that solution onto a soft cloth and wipe down your TV.
