  Keep your lenses on. Taking them on and off will introduce the risk of getting dust in there, and it would be more of a problem. You should leave the lens cap on, so you don't get too much stuff on the lens. You should also use a UV filter, for protection. The damage goes on the Filter, and not so much on the lens itself (but this isn't to say that it's going to survive a sever drop, or accident). You should get an LCD screen protector to stop the likelyhood of getting scratches, those are very annoying. You can also buy a little brush or blower to clean the dust of the lens. they are not expensive in the least.
