Im going to buy a new phone. is ebay a safe place?

be careful and good luck. i wouldn't do it because you don't know if the phone has been reported lost or stolen. if it has you won't be able to use it with the company you try to sign up for. cell phone companies have some good deals, you midaswell just buy from them to be safe.

Buyers Beware when buying items at Ebay. Offcourse Ebay has done its job to make sure items on sale are what they are described. But sometimes you find PRICES that are a bit steep than what it really is. People can get phones cheaper in some states and sell them in Ebay knowing that in some places these phones are in demand..its pure business. But if you do your homework well..buying at Ebay is safe, fun, sometimes frustrating and sometimes heart stopping when your trying to snipe someone at the last 5 seconds. Well, i bought my 1996 Jaguar xjs with only 50K for $6000 ( superb condition), my 1995 benz e320 (love the car) for $4000...my Bose lifestyle system for $500 (its $1950)...my vacation trip to the Bahamas a $1000 less..etc..etc..etc and am bidding now for a 2003 lexus Rx300 ( me think am goona get it for less than $18000). Bottom line...research first how much the Phone you like is worth in some states and bid accordingly. Example: Motorolas RAZR ( regular version) was going for average $300 in Ebay 2 months ago...now there is a provider in New York that is advertising these phones for less than $50 w/ service. So be wise.

EBAY CAN BE OKAY BUT THERE ARE SOME RISKS - ALWAYS CHECK THE FEEDBACK AND READ THE DESCRIPTION COMPLETELY - WATCH FOR SELLERS TAGGING ON RIDICULOUS SHIPPING - IT SHOULD BE LESS THAN 15 DOLLARS, AND EVEN THAT IS UPS OR FEDEX. SOME GOOD SELLERS ARE OUT THERE. I'VE BEEN SCREWED BEFORE THOUGH - MAKE SURE YOU PAY W/ PAYPAL - THAT WAY IT'S EASIER TO GET A REFUND IF YOU GET THE SHAFT. USUALLY A GOOD BRAND OF PHONE BY A SELLER W/ 99.5% FEEDBACK OR BETTER WON'T DO YOU WRONG. GOOD LUCK!

Why take a chance, buy from a reputable store.

BE CAREFUL! Some sellers are not telling all the truth... IMPORTANT!!! Weight out the cost for the phone plus the shipping!!! This is sometimes more expensive using Ebay...

Why don't you pick a service provider and get your phone from them? If you sign a contract they will give you a phone or at least give you a discount on the one you want. Ebay is a very safe place to buy thing though, I have bought alot of stuff there.

Yes it can be. Just make sure you read everything very carefully. Often there'll be fine print that says "for parts only" or something like that. What happens is that people break their phones, and sell them for parts, using the file photo. Since they know that it won't sell for much if it doesn't work, they hide it as best they can and it'll sell as a new item. So just watch out. Otherwise, as long as they have good feedback and a decent score, just make sure the phone is compatable with what you want and you should be alright.

The only safe way to shop on ebay is to look for products with a good return policy. This means a return policy that will let you return the item and get a ful refund if you aren't happy with it.
