Hi there, if you are budget conscious I will you recommend that you get the iphone 3G first, why did I said so? Because the iphone 3G is software upgradable meaning what ever software that came with the new iphone 3Gs can also be downloaded to the old iphone 3G by just simply connecting it to the latest itunes 8.2. So in short you can still get the features of a 3Gs it just that it comes on the old 3G package. But not all of them, to set your expectation, video recording , the camera pixels and compass are'nt upgradable, because these are hardware related features. By the way, just to let you know, there has been rumors that a new Iphone 4G "might" be coming out in 2010. So as early as now , might as well start saving your money for the 4G instead of the getting the 3Gs. Who knows, it might be true. Before the new 3Gs was unveiled by Apple , there are also a lot of leaked photos and information, in the end all of them came true. AIM is on available on Blackberry for sure. I know because I have one. As for the rest of them, they should all be available on either one. What you also have to consider is whether or not you want to be tied to At&t. They are the only ones that provide service for the iPhone, Which means to get optimal performance, you should have their service. Yes, you can unlock it and use another carriers service, but you may or may not get the best performance level. If you go with the Blackberry you get more options for your carrier. Many companies carry Blackberries now. which means you could go with half a dozen different companies and have more competitive pricing to choose from. I personally like Blackberries because of how user friendly they are. The manual is very thin, cause it's built into the phone! Otherwise, it sounds like ether would meet your needs. Check into trial periods, that way if you pick one you don't like you can tryt he other before you lock in! Hope that's helpful!

I would prefer getting a blackberry curve 8900 because its cheaper and cheaper on the monthly bill too..

with the iphone you would pay 30$ a month for data and 20$ more for unlimited texting ontop of whatever u have. id say the iphone but it isnt really worth it because in a few years, apple will release a new iphone and you will feel bad for having that iphone, u know it just sucks...so id go with the blackberry assuming ur not buying data, if you are buying data get the iphone

The iPhone if your not in the USA and locked to AT&T. But if you are, the Blackberry Curve unless you are willing to pay the price for the iPhone since it is actually better. And you should be able to get an AIM app from the app store for free or only a couple of dollars.
