How do I convince my parents to get me a cellphone?

Don't bother, you're parents are smart for not letting you have one. Granted, the brain tumor thing was disproved in several journal articles, so you can feel free to research that and debunk it. EM waves from cell phones do NOT cause cancer (in fact most EM waves don't). Their other reason is legitimate.

Well you are kind of young and all, but... You could tell them this: Tell them something like you could need for emergencys for you are at school and in need of a ride home, from someone in your family, both parents and others. I don't if you go out with your friends anywhere like that, but you could say that it could be also a emergency phone for if something were to happen while you were out! Maybe this will work. I gave each of my children a cell phone because they earned my respect and the privilege, with top grades, good behavior, and being a helpful part of our family. Try to talk them into "earning" a cell phone. My children call me after school,when they get home, and in between. I love hearing from them! Focus on the positives of having a cell phone, like constant communication, and make sure you have earned the privilege!

Well you can pretend to get kidnapped. Tell them to get a phone that has "flight mode" which can turn off the radio frequencies when it is not needed

That was me in year seven to because my mum read an article like that. I know how you feel, how all your friends are texting each other but you cant contact anyone? So ignore all the people saying your being stupid, cause your not. Try to convince them by telling them that when you go out with friends, you are going to need to be able to contact them. Or if you get into a bad situation and no one's around to help you your going to need to be able to call someone. Also, i got one because i told my mum that and i pay for it myself. Tell them you won't use it to much, and you will pay for it. (If you have to.) They can cause cancer because of the radiation but only if you use it a lot, and for a long time, so don't worry. Just ask once, and if they say no, then just drop it. No one owes you a cell phone, it's a luxury, not a necessity, especially given your age. It's just a silly phone.
