How are the career opportunities on doing MS in Computer Science in Germany as compared to doing the same in USA, as USA is considered the Mecca of Software. Example After an MS in CS people get chances to work at hot shot companies like Microsoft, Facebook etc. What about Germany?

Thanks for the A2A 1) US has much better opportunities and a greater number of jobs as compared to Germany hands down and the growth potential as well as scope for learning is also better. 2) The colleges in US are also better and higher ranked than their German counterparts in both education and research. 3) During MS in US you will get a larger number of opportunities to intern as well get a job at campus fairs. 4) You will also be able to attend more seminars, events and hackathons in US. 5) You will also get a chance to interact with the best minds from all over the world during your stay in US. But Germany tuition fees and living costs are a lot less as compared to the costs in US and being in Europe you could travel around and see some beautiful places. Germany is world renowned for their mechanical and automotive engineering/specialisation. It spends a lot on scientific and technological development and is making very fast strides in computer technology and development. My advice(as if it wasn't clear already) is do MS in US.

I cannot say for US as I personally don’t like US although I do understand the decision of people who go there.Easy to get 2nd, 3rd tier colleges where only money counts as you bio-data, easy to find cheap paying jobs and the freakonomic advantage of telling people that you have studied abroad (albeit being quite useless back in India)!In the US even with your mediocre bio-data you will easily get in 2nd or 3rd tier public colleges.Germany is a different beast!Extremely high quality colleges withy plethora of facilities, umpteen job opportunities and if you ask about ranking, why should Germans care? They speak German and therefore the best colleges don’t care to provide ranking data for English language based research journals.Also, you are a poor Indian, US will strip you out of your dad’s PF or your loan, Germany provides free education.If you can really get admission in German colleges, Go For It!
