Why does my ipod only play from the back speakers in my car?

How do you play your iPod through your car speakers?

  • What iPod accessory would I need to buy so that I can plug my iPod into my car stereo or something, basically, and play it out of my speakers?

  • Answer:

You need a cord that plugs into your auxiliary in your car and then you plug the other end into your ipod. :) Then just change the radio to AUX (auxiliary).

There's a variety of products to do this, and it depends on whether or not your car as a CD player, tape player, or an audio jack. Here's some good tips: http://www.digitalmania-online.com/connect-ipod-to-car-stereo Good luck!

It sounds like your in-dash receiver doesn't have an aux input and most likely not a tape player either. If you're looking for the best quality sound from you iPod to your car audio system, I'd either replace your in-dash receiver with a cheap car CD player that has a 3.5mm front aux input (not very expensive and convenient) http://www.cheapforme.com/index.php/cPath/497_505_554 or purchase an iPod FM transmitter specifically designed for an iPod. This place has a ton of cheap iPod accessories http://www.cheapforme.com

I have one the company that makes it is Belkin. You plug it into the ipod and tune your car radio to its frequency. I think it's called a tune cast.

You either need an Auxillary output cord or an Fm transmitter. For an Aux cord, you need to check your car and make sure you have an AUX output. If you do, go to a store and get a Audio/Stereo cable. Theres two jacks on either end, one to stick in your ipod, the other to stick in the jack. If you want to play it through your car radio, you need a FM transmitter. One end goes into the cigarette lighter in your car, the other into the ipod. You need to find a station that is clear and free of static and your music will p lay through on that

an iTrip http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/itrip/ or a tape that plugs into your tape slot and also into your ipod http://images.marketplaceadvisor.channeladvisor.com/hi/61/61482/DOTHXXXCAAD2_acc_L.jpg both can be found at best buy or radioshack

if your car has an aux port than by a caple that connects your ipod to your car, it looks like head phones but both sides are the metal part, one end goes into your ipod and the other into the car, but you need an aux port in your car

Most cars will have a line-in jack. Just get a standard size headphone cable with the plug on both ends. btw don't pick my answer. It sucks.
