Answer:
Yes, here is a proven easy way. Simply use this handy program called Tansee iPod Transfer to help you http://www.gutensoft.com/Utilities/Tansee-iPod-Transfer.htm Many of my friends are using it for its easy and safe transfer. The whole process goes as follows: Simply install this program on your computer. When you plug your iPod to the computer, this program will instantly display all songs and videos on the iPod.You simply select what you wish to transfer and click "Copy" button. Done. All your selected files will be copied to your computer completely and safely. Now you can easily add those songs and videos to your iTunes library. More importantly, this won't overwrite any original files on your iPod. It even has step-by-step guide on the whole process: http://gutensoft.com/Guide/How-to-transfer-songs-and-videos-from-ipod-to-computer.htm Best luck! This iPod rip can help you on this. http://ipod-tool.com/ipod-software/joboshare-ipod-rip.html My sister found it when she had to transfer her iPod files to her new laptop. It can help you transfer all music, videos, playlists, photos, podcasts and TV Shows and more from iPod to PC, from iPod to iTunes as well as from PC to iPod and file sharing between different iPods. The greatest thing is that the whole process won't cause any deletion of any files on your iPod. You can free download it to try. Good luck!

There is a program called iDump, it will allow you to put all the songs from iPod to iTunes. Just makes sure, that for the time being, when you connect your iPod to the computer you do not Sync it.

The only way that I have figured out is a bit time consuming, but it still works. Okay, so when you plug your IPod into the computer, as if to access iTunes, just look around in "My Computer." It should come up as your IPod. When you click on it, you will see different folders, each with a couple of letters as the name. Inside of each of these folders is a few of your songs. They will not be named in the file name; instead, the file name will be either a clipping of the artist's name, or just some random letters. Now here's where the time consuming part comes in: you need to click on one of these files; it will start to play in iTunes. Once you have identified the song, you have to name it the file's title (Really, you can name it whatever you want, but you have to rename it, because there are somefiles on you iPod that will end up having the same file name.) Then, COPY (don't move, or it won't be on your iPod anymore) that file into a permanent folder, either in your documents or your music. You can set up these folders anyway you like, it won't make a difference. This is going to take a while, but it works. Then after each of these songs have been copied, your going to have to relocate each file in your iTunes, so your computer knows where toplay it from. I know this seems really complicated, but hey, it works. Okay in review: 1. Plug in your iPod. 2. Go to "My Computer" and locate your iPod. 3. Open your iPod, and and open one of the folders, and find a song. 4. Double click on it, and wait for it to play. 5. Identify the song. 6. Close your music player, and rename the file. 7. COPY the file and place the copy into a new folder on your computer. 8. Repeat with the rest of your music. 9. Click on a song in your iTunes. If you have to relocate it.

You will have to PAY again if you try and get them again from itunes. best is to copy over the contents of your OLD hard drive in the itunes folder so it keeps all yoyur songs and playlists. Why do people assume that the ipod is a music backup system - its NOT! the Master files are on the computer in the itunes library and you really need to back these up directly. Thats NOT they way its designed to work the ipod is a slave device to ONE itunes only although itunes can have many ipods. When you PAIR an iPod with a computer it erases all songs on it!!! and deletes pairing with original computer. Sharing Copyrighted material such as Movies or Music is also illegal! You cannot transfer music from an ipod to itunes as Itunes is the MASTER location of the music files. if you NEED to transfer music form your ipod to the computer as you have lost the original you need a 3rd party application (I use Yamipod for mac) but a whole range can be found on www.versiontracker.com and enter ipod transfer in the search box under your operating system. I suggest copying the contents of the "iTunes Music" folder on your old computer onto the new one by USB hard disk, USB Flash memory or DVD-r once you have the utility installed run it and close itunes! connect the ipod (if itunes starts up and asks if you want to pair say NO and close itunes again). then with the utility transfer the songs form the ipod to your hard disk. Then disconnect the ipod, START itunes... drop the files you have just transferred onto the itunes Library and once the files have been copied into the library you can delete the originals (NEVER MOVE or touch the itunes folder on your computer otherwise you will lose the music let itunes manage it for you). Now reconnect the ipod and when it asks pair say YES and it will transfer the music to your computer.

If you have any of the iPods OTHER tah nthe touch you can get them directly off the iPod. Press the center and Menu buttons until your iPod restarts. As soon as you see the screen flicker off and the apple logo come up, press center and the play button. this puts your iPod into Drive mode. it basically has now been turned into a external hard drive. Plug it into your computer, and go to the ipod. Make sure that hidden folders have been turned visible. You will see a folder called iPod_control. From here, you want to UNHIDE this folder, if you dont the steps that put your music onto your computer WILL NOT WORK. Go into that folder, then search for music. go into that, and you will see a whole bunch of folders starting with F00, F01, F02 etc., depending on how much music you have. then go into each folder and copy paster the songs (which are currently titled random 4 lettered names, but dont worry about that.) once they are dragged into iTunes, they will get renamed back to the original song names, with one or two exceptions, but they are easy to fix. And from there all your music is back onto your computer. Once you are done, just click center + Menu to restart your iPod back to song mode. Sorry for the long thing, but thats how you do it. Again, it WIL NOT WORK ON IPOD TOUCH. this is becuase it is NOT a flash drive, and will not show up in folders and such.
