Can you convert coaxial into rca?

Is there a way to convert a coaxial cable signal into an rca cable signal?

  • Answer:

You can use a VCR, they usually have a VIDEO OUT port, or you maybe able to buy a converter, but you can use a vcr. Just hit the TV/VCR button, and choose your channel with the VCR. Thats if your using regular cable. If you use digital cable or satelitte, your box probably has a VIDEO OUT port already.

No. Cable is an RF, (radio frequency) signal and requires a tuner to seperate the channels; RCA is composite video at 1 volt peak-to-peak, so a straight conversion is not possible.

1 - use a vcr as a tuner as recommended by others. 2 - if you have a cable box, check to see if it has rca outputs. some do. 3 - buy a separate tuner box (although a cheap used vcr even if the vcr part itself were broken would probably be cheaper) RF modulator is used to take an rca signal and convert it to channel 3 or 4 so, no you can't use it.

You can buy an RF Modulator for under $20 that will do exacty what you need. Or you can use a VCR to do the same thing and use the VCR remote to change the channel. Correction: My bad, I misread the question, ignore my answer. The only way to do it is through a VCR or Cable Box.

Rplace the Coax In Jack and your fixed. RCA and COAX are way different Freqs so they will not work good.
