Do you need to connect a digital set top box to an external tv arial?

    Before you bought the digibox you presumably watched analogue on the same TV in the same room so you need to a) unplug the old aerial lead from where it goes into the TV and put it into the 'aerial in' socket on the digibox b) connect a new lead from the 'aerial out' to the TV (not required if the outside aerial is the only input source and you no longer want to watch analogue) Indoor aerials used to be an option with analogue but I doubt if you'd get more than a few channels on digital with an indoor aerial.

you can use any ariel, indoor or one on the roof, but i highly reccomend that you use a outdoor one that is on the roof rather then the indoor one, i paid £30 (wasted) on a indoor ariel, and all i got was BBC2. then i had to move it to another position and got Channel4. got about 5 channels, but the arial had to be in the middle of the room. lol put the outdoor ariel on with a huge extention, and got almost all the channels, doesnt have to be a digital ariel, i got the old one thats been up there for years.

U need to plug outside aerial into digi box !!!

You have to attach the lead from your aerial to the digibox antenna in socket. and the lead from the antenna out socket to your TV. Don't know if it would work from an indoor aerial.
