I just bought Samsung LN-T5265F. It is their latest generation. I am very happy with it. Some of the reviews are coming in better than the Sony. Sony, Samsung and Sharp are the top of the line for LCD. Definitely get 1080p.

Tough decision. Watch out for sonys assembled in china (low quality) try to get one assembled in japan. Samsung's are usally assembled in malaysia or singapore. Another thing to note is that there is no Full HD. Either its HD or it isn't. If the program is recorded, broadcast, recieved and displayed with 720 lines of resolution or better its HD period. Check your source when looking at these tv's in a store make sure what they are showing is really HD.

LG, Samsung and Sony seem to be leading the market. But beyond brand names make sure you buy based on the secs of the TV not just price and name brand. Don't buy anything less than 1080i or 1080p.
