How much is the cost of a digital converter box?

How much does the TV Converter box cost and where should I buy it?

  • I have an older tv with rabbit ears.

  • Answer:

In general, they cost between $50-$80, so with the $40 government coupon, they will run you $10-$40 (plus any applicable taxes). I got my DTVPal at Sears, but not all Sears stores carry them, and there are some issues with the implementation of extra features that need to be fixed by Dish/Echostar. A good box with few problems is the Zenith DTT901, available at Circuit City, or the Insignia NS-DXA1-APT, which is the same thing branded for Best Buy - should cost $60, so $20 out of pocket.
