In Florida, is it against the law to use an infant car seat without the base?

I have a Graco infant car seat and when we switch cars, I don't always use the base. I was told by a friend it was illegal. I have never heard this before. Does anyone know?

Yes it is illegal to have a child seat with out base Check with the local \police They will advice you better( Do no take the children to the police station in the car with this system as you may be fined)
