Camera lens fogged up... from inside?

What to do when your camera lens are fogged up with water?

  • I have a cyber shot, the lens are just fogged up. Do I let it dry? Or... please help! I have no idea what to do, and I am in major danger!

  • Answer:

try a cool, low hairdryer setting and blow around the edges. to see if you get air under it... you'll know pretty quickly if air is getting under it, if so, continue doing so until dry. It cant fog in no air/moisture is getting in, so you should be successful this way. good luck...

I've used a microfiber cloth (you can get them at camera stores for around $5). It won't scratch the lens, and it seemed to work pretty well. You could just take the shots with fog on the lens, but they won't be sharp!

Wipe it with a very soft cloth like the one you get to clean your spectacles etc.

you let it sit with the lens faced down and let it dry

Ty_Kleinle's idea was a good one, but using a paper towel will scratch the surface, so don't use that.

Hold it over your dumpster and open your fingers..

just get a tissue or paper towel and wipe off the fog from the lens, that should also clean any finger prints from the lens.
