Why won't the videos from my camera play on my computer?

  • I have a Gateway computer with Windows Vista. I can import the videos but I'm not able to play them. The camera is a Kodak EasyShare C875.

    It depends on the format of the videos. Try downloaded VLC media player. It's really good, or if the movies are in MP4 format or .MOV download the free version of Quicktime from the apple website.

Do you have the software CD that came with the camera? Yes? Load it on your computer. No? Download it from Kodaks' website. Voila, instant movies. If this doesn't work get rid of the Kodak and get a Canon, their software works fine.

It's an unrecognized format. You need to look for a player that runs the format Kodak uses.

Maybe its your media player. Try going to downloads.com. We had the same problem exept we have a dell windows vista we now us GOM

maybe because your camera saves the video as a file in which your computer cant support or play so try downloading a converter and convert it from 1 file to another EG: Mp4..3GP..WAV..WMV ............Etc

It is most likely in the wrong format. What format is it in? You can change the video format on many websites. Try media-convert.org . It's free. All you have to do is upload it onto their site and then download it in it's new format. As for which format to select, I would say .wmv, since you are running a windows computer. Hope this helps!
