How to print black and white pics?

Does it matter how many megapixels my camera has if I don't intend to print my pics?

    Hi there, if you not printing it really doesnt matter having lower mega pixels. You can definatly get a camera for under a hundred pounds, i would pay out the most you can though, dont go to cheap cause you may find that some of the features on it are not as good or that the camera may just be a cheapo camera. I have a nikon coolpic camera and have just seen one similar in argos. Its a nikon coolpics L10 5mp(which is great). Dont forget that if you are staying in your buddget you have to buy a memory card too and i recommend some rechargeable batteries cause digi cameras eat up the batteries. My batteries are great, they were from jessops and are 9gs i think, rechargeable, they last weeks, its false economy buying disposable batteries as they really dont last! Hope this has helped you. MY two daughters and partner and myself have different models of the nikon coolpix, we payed a lot more than the offer in argos at the moment so i would go for that. My partner has had his camera for five years and its still as good as new, even though he has dropped it several times!

If your not intending to print pics,whoever you send the pics to may want to print them ,and as majority of people only print up to A4 size pics.I have found that a camera with 3mp up to 6mp will give areasonably good picture I use a 6mp camera and getvery good results with a 6mp camera.hope this helps you but I dont see the need for a camera of more than 6mp if the prints are going to printed as A4 size

I'd aim at 5-6mp in your case. You may not want prints, but the people you sent your pictures to might want them.

megapixels are all about quality. if you don't care about quality then mp don't matter. small pics will still be blurry with a low mp camera.

Hey there I think your budget is more than good enough to buy you a decent camera for your pupose. I bought a video cameroa which also has camera in it for £89.99 from ALDI. Its got 5.0 mega pixels and its is fine. If you dont want video camera and just camera you can get cameras with brialliant quality. But be sure to look around the net before you actually buy. By the way my camera is Traveler. You can check it out in Traveler's website if you want.

You don't have to have alot of megapixels, but it helps to have a good brand of camera, and no lower than 4 - 5megapixels.... personally I use a Fuji Finepix A345 (discontinued) which has a variety of modes to change from 4MP fine, 4MP normal, 4MP 3:2, 2MP, 1MP + 0.3MP, all of which give good quality pictures at different sizes........ the 0.3MP mode beating hell out of even the bestest effort of a similarly 0.1-0.3MP digital pen camera (kinda like a carry around webcam) I bought years ago. That's the first good question I've seen posted here in a month. Most people's computer monitor is less than two megapixels. If you send them a 10MP image, you're justing wasting internet bandwidth. Get a good camera (battery life, zoom, ...) and set it to low resolution (1MP).
