there are alot of factors to go into a trucks fuel mileage.Trucks today get anywhere from 5 to 8 miles to the gallon, where later model trucks dont come close to that.It is just like cars the more technology the better the fuel economy.

i drive semi for a living and at best they get 5 to 6 miles to the gallon.they use diesel not gas . they stopped using gas engines in the seventies for semi cuz a diesel was more economical and can deliver more power per square inch than the gas. a 200 gallon tank will take you about 1000 miles easy for about 10 hours driving. Are you thinking about driving semi's?

Ok Big, Here's the deal,,,, k? Semi-trucks take "Diesel Fuel", not gas. And right now, with Diesel Fuel being higher than gas, I'm gonna say that due to the size of their standard 250 gallon tanks on each side total of 500 gallons..... at an average of $3.00 per gallon (anybody got the math here on this ??) I'm gonna guess 1500 miles,,,,but they'll probably be re-fueling at about 750 miles....due to weight restrictions in some states.....????? and that varies from state to state. Depends on where they are and in what state, and what the Diesel prices are in their area. My husband hauls mail in a semi, and goes from our town in Eastern Oregon up to Seattle Washington...every other day. He fuels when the gauge shows he's gone 750 miles. He has fuel to go farther, but there is a weigh station in both Wa. and in Or. and port of entry. And he don't want any fines for being over weight.... when hauling the federal gov. mail. He moves the mail at night, so that the mail carriers receive it for delivery the next working day. When they are delivering it, he is sleeping, as he is back in that truck at night .... making sure the postal carrier stays employed. :) :)

The Hybrid Semi-rigs now, usually burn as much as any other typical hybrid suv; about 30-45 mpg city.

like 8 miles to a gallon because theyre mileage is simmlar to a cxt and they get like 8-10 miles per gallon

Nope, but since most of these are diseal, diseal engines usually get a little better gas mileage than regular gas engines. Really though it depends on the truck. Is the engine a 10 cylinder, 12 cylinder etc...
